The Golden Age Poem by Zvonko Maković

The Golden Age

Rating: 5.0

what is your habitat?
my habitat is an ashtray, a desk
a chair, a candlestick, books, boxes.

what is your habitat?
my habitat is a box.

what is your habitat?
my habitat is a box in which
all sorts of objects are placed.

what is your habitat?
my habitat is the first object
i touch and pronounce its name.

what is your habitat?
my habitat is the bed if i lie
on the bed knowing it is a bed.

what is your habitat?
my habitat is made of things that make me know:
measure, origin, function, material and name.

what is your habitat?
my habitat is a cube if the earth is
in the shape of a cube and a ball if the earth is a ball.

what is your habitat?
my habitat is the distance from the chair
i am sitting on to the chair on which i am going to sit

what is your habitat?
my habitat is a planet
that i can go all over saying i went all over
the planet called earth.

what is your habitat?
my habitat is an ashtray, a desk
a chair, a candlestick, books in a box
that is called the planet-box

what is your habitat?
my habitat is the number of objects
i know by name and by use.
