The Graveyard Poem by Shannon Hughes

The Graveyard

As stealthily as a panther
The black of night creeps
Over the lonely graveyard
The moonless sky is
A black blanket spread
Wide, consuming the
Millions of stone graves
Piercing the dark grounds looking
Like bony finger
Climbing out of eternity’s tomb for
Revenge
Upon the living
