The Great Game Poem by Obinna Kenechukwu Eruchie

The Great Game

When it materialised, the play I watched all.
Glorious before the game, players stood tall.
Battle set and bent to play exciting ball.
To be won a fight to have the other fall.
Into the great game, all their minds they install.

At the game’s sudden start, they play at last.
Ball dribbled, passed like dance they do so fast.
The goal, a marked target on which they cast.
The ball, they are kicking so high and vast.
The way they play the game is such a blast.

A dazzling game, of which all are part,
A wonderful game right from the start,
A beautiful game, fluid as an art,
An enchanting game straight from the heart,
A great game, where all for the best chart.

A game for it is where cries hail
At every limbs dancing to sail
With the ball, whose presence each nail
With art to attain without fail,
Way in the goal beyond like gale.
