The Heart Poem by Hoseah Mothapo

The Heart

Back and forth, there it goes
lies, betray and everything that goes with
On the hill, but further I can't see
How did solid get perforated?
Could it be of doubt?
With so many wounds and scars
But yet no penetration on cardiac muscles
Amazing how bad things are easily adapted
We set heights we can't obtain
Broken every promise we ever made
It used to be so warm
Now it's cold wind blows
Torn apart hard to stick together
People love for benefits
beat by beat it pumps
It's muscles still can contract
It gets heavy with time
All the memories turns into nightmares
The longer the silence, the further it tears
Temptations are ineluctable
But yet with time it heals
Despite all the negativity
Best lesson learnt
It's hard for it to trust if bruised
