The rain is beating down on my hood
Look at them wipers go
I’d already be home if I could
But my baby she said go
I guess I’ll go on to my mothers place
I’ll need a place to call home
It’s been a while since I saw her face
And I don’t want to be alone
The rain keeps beating down on me
Ironic how it plays it’s part
But any place will be all right with me
As long as I can hide this heavy heart
The heavy rain just like the pain
Coming down hard beating down on me
The wipers wipe but still these eyes
Through tears it’s hard to see
Ironic how the heavy rain
And the heart they do their part
Over cast and dreadful now
Just right for falling apart
The heavy rain just like the pain
Coming down hard beating down on me
The wipers wipe but still these eyes
Through tears it’s hard to see.
