The Hollowness Of Loveless Days Poem by Edwina Reizer

The Hollowness Of Loveless Days

The time of year emboldens me.
It helps me go with no reservation
into the future with no regrets
and with no hesitation.
In fact I look forward
to the long dark sleep
from which I do not shrink.
The only reservation I have
is will I find the missing link
that connects the now with the then
so my heart will never sink
into the hollowness of loveless days
that will linger where it is I’ll go.
For only then will the boldness of me
become like a frightened doe.
