The Hunt Poem by Rickardo BecklesBurrowes

The Hunt

Your love a cage
Your words translucent and anesthetized
Scepticism taps on my shoulder
As you speak your words of love
My brain slightly misplaced
Sudden past pain erased
You say your love is pas de deux
I’ve known it to be the assailant of this crime
You hold me wanting me
Touching me, loving me
As I feel I hear you say inside
You have to want to kill, to hunt
