The Illusion Poem by Perry Sophocleous

The Illusion

So close, yet so far
Yet distant is what we are,
I am sinking in quick sand,
With no one to extend their hand,
My bearings are lost to me,
As is my loving family,
Growing further apart every day,
Love is not something we say,
With no rope, or no oxygen,
I float away in space,
The silent words I speak,
Shout for help from the deep,
The illusion is now clear,
We love one another, but are not close enough to hear...
