The Intense Caligraphy Of The Human Voice Poem by Dónall Dempsey

The Intense Caligraphy Of The Human Voice

Rating: 5.0

My words
whisper
tickle your belly
fall into
your belly button
lie there
all mixed up.

I write: “I love you! ”
with the tip of my tongue
tantalisingly slowly
across your taut belly
you shiver
with each dried letter.

“Tell me…oh...
...write it again...
...write my name...
...write your name! ”
until drugged
with love

the dawn
smiling upon us
both “pen” & “paper”
fall finally asleep.

Oh I just adore this...this is tender and sexy in equal amounts and what any girl wants. I'm jealous of the woman in this poem. And the end bit of the 'pen' & 'paper' falling asleep is just divine. What I wouldn't give to be your bit of paper - you could write on me anytime. This poem made me feel like...like... oh I can't tell you! love Dee Dee

I love the thought of words falling into a belly button, just as I love the sheer joy of this poem, the love that shines out of it...until, at last 'both pen and paper' fall asleep.
