The Intruder Poem by Barbara Curtis

The Intruder

You've invaded my house
You're not wanted here
I'm scared, I hide
You fill me with fear.

The hairs on my arms
Are standing on end
I try to get to the phone
To call a friend.

But you're blocking my way
Can't get to the hall
Oh I'm shaking and terrified
You are so tall.

Your eyes are so big
Menacing and black
You come closer and closer
As I move back.

I wish you would leave
I can't hardly speak
As your eight hairy legs
Walk over my feet.
