When your words reach my ears
I will forever hear
Lasting echoes of your voice
Lamenting our time apart

Your tears are captured
On my lips
Unknowing if they reflect your sadness or joy

Joining together
Our minds become one
Interest is heightened
Never to wane

My heart flutters
Ever straining at the chains of restraint

Forestalling the abyss
Our lives together
Rekindle the flame

A heart beats strongly again

Daring
And bold
Time will speak
Ending my search.
