The Journey Poem by DianneLee Ferguson

The Journey

Rating: 4.0

I think continually
I was heading south
and finally
I rise
I rise
From such demise
Never knew I had it in me
I toiled
soiled
and foiled
the master whose whip
I outlasted
On this sorrowful trip
The Blasted!

But I knew one day my chance would come
No more to these lashes I will succomb
But I stayed, patiently I waited
For the day has come
I am emancipated.

A nice, mind refreshing poem! Very much reassuring to a hopeless mind.
