The Joy Of Waiting Poem by Rusty Ed Gibson

The Joy Of Waiting

Since the first time we ever met
I wanted to tell you how I feel
How you stole my heart that night
was more than just surreal

I stared into your gorgeous eyes
and wanted to kiss those lips
Instead I gave you a great big hug
and dreamed about that kiss

I didn’t want to scare you off
or chase away your friends
I just wanted to hold you tight
and be here for you till the end

I still think of you
though I forget how beautiful you are
I still remember that first time
under those bright Texas Stars

I wish you would come to me someday
with no plans to ever leave
Let me love and spoil you real bad
and feed you all the bacon you can eat
