The Knit And Natter Group Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

The Knit And Natter Group

The Knit and Natter Group

What do I do with my time,
Now that poems I hardly do write?
Well, I have taught myself how to weave,
Which I do by day and by night.

I have joined the 'Knit and Natter Group',
For Tenants in Cecil Rosen Court in Bushey,
Who knit squares for blankets for the Ukraine,
With wool provided by the Group and me.

My time, I spend weaving squares,
For Alzheimer sufferers they are needed,
To be affixed with buttons and beads,
A Therapy by them to be heeded.

You do not need to be a Tenant
To join this Group, you see
It meets at 2 p.m on Fridays,
A friendly Group we be.

Our numbers have grown slowly,
Needles or looms we can provide,
Do something worthwhile to help others,
And in the end result take pride.
