The Lamentations Of Death Poem by LALATENDU KABI

The Lamentations Of Death

Rating: 5.0

"Oh my Father! You made me so soft and cute;
You gave me a heart with feelings absolute
And what an assignment! !
Like a criminal I will be ever alone,
Ages will come and will be gone;
I shall have none for accompaniment. -1

"Souls will shudder at my sight;
None shall love or hold me tight.
Or offer me a chair,
In what state shall I be my father,
For ages roaming everywhere,
Watching grief and rolling tear? -2

"With all my might I shall do
Without rest at the behest of you,
Assign me something other; "
Creator Brahma opened his eyes
And said, "You are the best of all my guys;
To perform what I said my daughter.-3

You are so sweet and obedient,
Most loved and proficient
For this rigorous strife, my child.
Food and dress needs shall not be met
If leaving beings such many kids beget
Like waves in flood and tide"-4

Then doing millennia of prayer and practice
You are playing the ceaseless apprentice
Ending lives in your aptitude;
How lonely you are o Death! my Mother!
When my time comes, take me to clean your tear,
And to love and embrace you in your solitude? -5
