The Land Of Opportunity Poem by Ray James

The Land Of Opportunity

From the Spanish Cattle Trail, to Santo,
to the Sabine River Mission Domingo,
We granted the Texas State Motto Friendship.
Into our homeland is serenity, we sing:
(Chorus/Female Singer :) Put a little love in your heart.

Where the Bells of Freedom Ring,
The Gringos and Amigos had come to terms
With ourEyes are on ourTexas Longhorns, we sing:
(Chorus/Female Singer :) Put a little love in your heart.

We are the Stars of Texas with the Golden, Blue Eyes,
We get up with the Prairie Dogs; tend to the cattle, horses and sing:
In the heart of Texas is the American Cowboys Dream
(Chorus/Female Singer :)Put a little lovein your heart.

The gift of the Lord is within the golden bullion.
We never offended the Lord in the Union,
Where rings of gold are now in Texas, we sing:
(Chorus/Female Singer :)Put a little love in your heart.

Thank-God for Texas, in 1845.
We ran our Longhorn Cross Cattle in the Union, we sing:
This is the American Cowboys Dream.
(Chorus/Female Singer :)Put a little love in your heart.

We are the Stars of Texas with the Golden, Blue Eyes,
We get up with the Prairie Dogs; tend to the cattle, horses and sing:
In the heart of Texas is the American Cowboys Dream
(Chorus/Female Singer :)Put a little love in your heart.

With our American Gold Eagles in 1985.
We rode our ponies in delivery and we sing:
This is the American Cowboys Dream.
(Chorus/Female Singer :)Put a little love in your heart.

We salute the Texas Flag and say:
it is never too late,
To serve the Lord and pray,
This is our land, a American Cowboys Dream.

TAG:

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Texas has been surrounded by good fortune. Primarily with the Texas Longhorn then came the Texas Flag. The sabine river throughout Texas and Louisiana with the mission of the cattle was much needed. The cattle would survive through some of the harshest climates and food conditions. The people learned to get along through prayer and understanding-seeking the mission and union....No challenge is to great when the Lord prevails. This poem was written to help the Mexican/American people realize their own heritage and freedom. I was inspired to write this to President Donald Trump searching for serenity in Texas. This song has been recorded in Nashville.
