The Test Of Time Is In Gods Hands Poem by Ray James

The Test Of Time Is In Gods Hands

Rating: 5.0

I've have been cracking the whip
Until days dawn ends.
Trying to make a living
Just like the Hatfields & McCoys
Who are all my Kins.

I get up thinking and dreaming;
Am I still alive with Juliet?
I am the Romeo of the Century.
But don't know why.

Having peace in the Hilltop's,
Seems fair to me;
But I don't understand my neighbors creed.
Who reminds me of all the past greed.

We come from an Ancient Civilization;
Where my neighbors don't understand,
I am a dancer, singer and lover of freedom.
But my neighbors are a lot like the Flintstones
Feuding over boiling times.

I travel and explore to nobodies Inn.
Hoping to find love and work,
That will keep me company.
I find sweetie pies in the southern lands.
We'll dance and sing in the moonlight,
With laughter and love is all my sweetie pies.

I come back home to my father's land.
With my Juliet in my hand.
My neighbors remind me of work.
But, I really don't understand.

I'm tired of working for pennies;
On a dollars day hand, in this barren land.
So I take my sweetie pie Juliet,
Back off to our southern land.

Where we can enjoy the outdoors.
Make and explore new friends.
I cast no fear in the fields,
Because my true noble blood is here.

To guide me, direct me with blueberries and honey pies;
To give me peace of mind.
My ancient ancestors in my dreams,
Told me: stay bold, fear no evil, fear no crime.

So I find the work
That I was met to do.
Making a great harvest of Gold that's no lie.
In the wheat fields, I find my honey pies.

Hauling pipe, to the oil fields.
Kissing, Loving and Dancing,
With my Juliet in my spare time.
Making new friends with my sweetie pie.

I celebrate victory
With my country friends.
I stand in say, yes I am Romeo.
Who has great plans that's no lie.

I visit my relatives and old friends,
Once Again,
I tell Momma and Poppa,
I finally found victory in my hands.

I tell them how much I love them.
That I will always remember them.
When we had to fight in tough, barren lands.
And salvage what we canned.

We're not deserters of war,
We're workers and fighters of freedom,
With a God-given plan.
Thank-you Momma and Poppa for standing
With us - once again.

Now we all stand in victory and sing,
My land is your land
How about it Romeo?
How about it Juliet?

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Romans 12: 19-21 19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay, ”[a] says the Lord.20 On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”[b] 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

The Flintstones featured a feud between the Hatrocks and the Flintstones in the episode " The Flintstone Hillbillies" (aired January 16,1964) , which was loosely based upon the Hatfield–McCoy feud.
