The Last Goodbyes (At Least Perceptually) Poem by Michael Fischer

The Last Goodbyes (At Least Perceptually)

Rating: 5.0

Today we exchange our tea cozy goodbyes
Without the groundberry guidance
From our retired right-hand minds

But for the duration of this poem
Why don't we withdraw from the fast lane
And reflect on what exactly has ended

An unfurled unity of universal minds
Between an expressional, but otherwise
Cattleya assembly of disparate peers

I'll never forget the ambient classroom
The launchpad for potter's clay poetry
Where we were taught to play the maverick

The golden gram nestle of Perry's voice
As his inner child Texas starred
Reading Robert Frost's 'Birches'

And I'll never forget anyone of you
For everyone sitting here today
Inspired me to be a better writer

Our Modern Poetry class will be etched
Inside the crystalline cavums
Of my Red river heart forever
