The Lies Of A Thousand Knives Poem by Slim Jim

The Lies Of A Thousand Knives

My heart is cut open by the lies of a thousand knives
Blood pools around it and floods over the sides
Who am I kidding
With this life unforgiving
Love turns to hate
Innocence to 'Rape'
Friends a thing from in the past
Never coming back
To loose them all, this is the way it ends
We once where really close
But that was way back when?
I wish at times I could just go back
And change the things I said,
To change the things I've done
The present still unspoken,
I'd live this life over unharmed, unbroken
Unbroken by the lies
Unbroken by those little regrets
I'd relearn how to walk even the baby steps!
It was all worth getting right to where we are
Even if I could change it all the end wouldn't be that far
I love my girlfriend to death
Even with our pasts full of regrets
I wouldn't change a thing
Except a little ring...
I'd be right by her side
Till the days we died
Even in the after-life
I know shes right for me
And I don't care if the world can see
No matter how much you make it hurt
My blood will never squirt
Just glaze on down the slopes
As long as there is hope.
