The Light That Lights My Way Poem by Mockingjay Mellark

The Light That Lights My Way

You are the light that lights my way
You show me where to go
When I stumble you say hey
And pick me up from real down low
I'm in the dark but You shine your rays
And I understand You've got reasons when You say no
The holy angels sing so sweetly Your praise
I do too, oh Your greatness shows
Even the horses laud You with their neighs
And You always guide me where to go
Because You are the light that shows me the way

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I had the line from Superman The Movie going through my head about humans lacking the light to show them the way and it gave me the idea to write this poem.
COMMENTS OF THE POEM

I clicked on this poem because the title was so positive. I admire your ability to see the positive face of things and then take the time, make the effort to preserve the positive impression in a poem. Many people use poetry (and often misuse it) to express the most dour and dead-end emotions. And it is certainly necessary to do that - but as you imply in your comments, we are starved for things like HOPE and HELP and HOSANNAS. You said in your message about ANGELIC you sometimes put angels in your poems. I just met one of them in this poem!
