The Light To A Brighter World Poem by Ishita Kapoor

The Light To A Brighter World

Didn't see the time...I thought its 9...
Fire inside me, which was ignite...

It was dark outside, when I was coming from somewhere...
But I was so lost, that I didn't even care...

Didn't care for what's around me....didn't care for what's inside me...
Didn't even notice where I am....didn't even know where to go...

I was searching for peace on those empty roads...
didn't feel like leaving, didn't feel like going home...

All I wanted was peace around...
I was looking for it, but there was nothing I found...

Not a single arrow, to guide me to a right way...
No one I could find, who could take me to a peaceful place...

All what I found, was betrayal at every turn...
I still didn't lose hope, and kept my run...

I was roaming around, but was coming to the same place again n again...
And as I saw the light of fire, it started to rain...

Holding my nerve, I followed the light...
It took me to a place, where there was a cliff at a height...

The sand tried to make me slip, the stones tried to hurt...
But I was so determined and nothing could tear me apart...

When I reached up there, I felt the blowing breeze for the first time...
I saw the rising sun, first time from my naked eyes...

Stood up there, I could see the beautiful world...
The greenery of the trees, the redness of the roses, and the sounds of water were so finely curled...

Then I realised how good this world can be...
It all depends on the perception of thee...

Yes, the sorrow and happiness both lie in this world...
But it's all in your heart that you choose the dark evil, or the bright star...
