The Loneliness Poem by Whitney Davis

The Loneliness

Rating: 2.7

I am the loneliness
You brought upon yourself,
Result of fearfulness
And closeness with myself.

Surrounded by many people,
But afraid of getting attached,
You are like a fallen sepal
That will forever be detached.

I am your only lasting friend,
Everyone else always leaves.
Myself, you never try to end
No matter what they all believe.

They all believe you are cheerful,
Never see past your perfect blind,
But to myself you are servile.
They cannot see within your mind.

Myself you will not leave.
Tied by the Fates’ red thread,
You will not even grieve
About your future’s end.
