The Loner / The Wanderer Poem by Harshvardhan Ramachandran

The Loner / The Wanderer

He’s a real lonely man
Sitting there with no long term plan
Thinking in his own frame of mind
Appearing to speak with a lack of foresight
Passing by the world, day and night
Walking past the word, bereft of the brightness it once had

He’s a real social pariah
Standing silently on top of the hill
Where people think he’s lost his mind
He watches the world moving
And sees the Sun rise and set
No one knowing if his needs are met
Not knowing he considered the world his met

He’s a real lonely man
Younger a long time ago
Looked down upon now as a hobo
Not due to his appearance
But by his lack of speech
And an apparently obvious lack of plan
Just walking across the land
With a small bag in his hands
And Silence on his lips
And a Glint in his eyes
Things are not what they seem to be

Walking without giving the jeers any heed
Zero Knowledge of his deeds
Walking by, planting some seed
Greeting the animals that he feeds
Speaking silently as no listens
With Words too powerful for anyone to discern
People look at him in doubt
They dub him insane
While leering at him with disdain
Unsure of his creed or his needs

The world lies at his command
Ready to fulfill his demands
A fulfiller of the definition of humanity
A person tuned into reality
Fixing holes with places to seal
Knowing truly with what is real
Accepting that the rest won’t get his deal
There are problems in life to be dealt with
To create a bridge between the rift
The Truth is, He has the gift
To give us all a lift

We are real nowhere men
Not knowing what’s going on
Stuck in times from long ago
Miffed with things that passed us by
Inert to changes that will help us all
Unable to answer life’s call
In a Time where we must stand tall
We cast The Eyes of Judgment on this man
Walking silently across the land
Helping those who are walking past
Doing it as long as he will last
Unvaried by the Dogma life has cast

Knowing Human beings can be fickle
From his eyes, a few tears begin to trickle
Maybe the exhaustion of leading a long life to nowhere
Or The Contentment of being Here, There and Everywhere
As we sit here going nowhere in this world, Unaware.
