The Lost Ring Poem by YURI DURAAN

The Lost Ring

Rating: 5.0

You gave me a ring
'our secret' you said -
the most beautiful,
perforated silver ring -
butterfly wings
(carrying your love to me)
only for me
and for no-one to see

precious, antique finnishes,
the weight of the ring in the
moment, the palm of my hand
this moment between
you and me
for no-one to see

so I took our secret and hid
it - far away from prying eyes
and inquisitive minds
keeping the secret and its
vitrous beauty so safe
for no-one to see
that it is now nowhere to be found
by you or me
