The Lure Of Writing Poem by David Harris

The Lure Of Writing

Rating: 5.0

The lure of writing
is not an easy one to break
once it has you in its grip.
It won’t let you go,
make no mistake.
You can struggle all you want,
but you can never win.
You can turn your back on it
saying I will never write again,
but you will.
The lure of writing
is not and easy one to break,
it will seduce you with dreams
and no matter how many times
they are crushed
the lure of writing
will draw you back again
and again and again.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

How right you are! 'once it has you in its grip' is so true. There are worse ways to find the pathway in life, share joy and sadness with others, and become wonderful friends with those who also gripped by it though. Great work David. 10/10 Karin Anderson

When a page is written then you find that you have only half written what is in your mind and on finishing next you discover there is much to uncover till you reach the point where you can nomore recover.
