The Luster Of Love Poem by Myrtle Thomas

The Luster Of Love

To know that look in your eyes
is like a rush of fire in a cool breeze.

No words spoken, only a kiss
with the luster of wet lips
and the touch of your skin

In your arms is the ambiance I seek
the smell of your cologne sweet intoxicating
warmed like whiskey through the blood
your hand and heart, the promise I love

Sweet surrender came slowly
unhurried and romantic as fragrant rose bud
on moon lit night
I was like a candle in a soft wind

That spark of life between two souls
when the touch of your hand tingled with fire
so was this love, now so long ago
mellowed with time
and softened like pillow down

Memories built with love and sweet desire
linger long through life til the heart forgets to beat.
