The Man Poem by Junior Holganza

The Man

It was he who you first met
The one who became your first
The first that loved you
Taught you the taste

He can disappear with ease physically
Your mind though, that I can't foresee
The man has to understand
on something that he can't

This ancient love still holds on
Cleopatra's story has no chance
If he never left without force
Would you have been happy

The purpose of the man
He worries without disdain
Was it all for naught
He is there you know
Just in case

Scared of him are you
Dangerous a man is he
Or does the thought
The loss of him
Is what you can't bear

The man with you now
what is he to you
A man you can be with
A man to have children with
What if a lingering thought
What if a different circumstance
What if you had the choice

Which man will be with you
