The Man Poem by Victor Kretzie

The Man

Fight the man
break the man
but as they watched
the arm stayed silent
and the man dug further

Rise for he is weak!
they said no
laughed and drunk
slept and woke up
and the man dug further

Why you stay silent?
for listening to the mute
is only fools work

Wondered and wondered
curiouser and curiouser
while the man dug further

A spark from the mind
a beat from the heart
and he came true
for there is no cheating
in the game of the man
