The Man Left Untold Poem by Lyf Burns

The Man Left Untold

Do you know?
Know how it pains,
The ones who love you most,
When you throw away all hope?

Did it come into your mind,
That maybe all this time,
A woman or a man,
Chose to care about your life?

A soul whose only a shell,
It's truth buried deep in hell,
And as the man, he burned,
Then the world, it ceased to turn.

Because the women realized,
That this man had cheered them up,
And the men they realized,
That this man had helped them out.

And then the world,
It realized,
That this man had helped it turn.

The people needed him,
But were too absorbed to remember,
The one that had helped them,
Cheered them,
Moved them.

But time took it's toll,
And the man had withered,
Nothing left of him,
An old man he sat,
His compassion,
His strength,
His mind.

Gone.
And he became,
The Man Left Untold.
