The Mask Of Dreamers Poem by Julianna A. Laplante

The Mask Of Dreamers

Rating: 4.8

I see a light in the distance.
Shinning, shimmering, it's rays reaching out,
Almost as if calling for me.

It is something I have never had before.
It is like the hug I have never felt,
Or the love I have never received.

I need it.
I want it.
So I achieve it.

The light surrounds me like a cloak of security,
And whispers, 'Don't worry, don't fear,
I love you and will always be here.'

Three months later, I see what the light really is.
It is just a mask in the world of 'what if'.

A ray of hope disappears under the mask! The last line is melancholic.
