(the)matter Of Factness Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

(the)matter Of Factness

The matter of factness.
These days we live.
Matters less than distractions.
And that which entertains,
A subtracting of reality.
With left remnants of it,
Chewed.
Although untrue them spewed to be.

The matter of factness,
Today jeered and smeared...
As if manure to spread,
To kill the roots of truth.
And done with a doing to recruit,
The services of unused minds in vacant heads.
Paying the price to ensure,
The quality of life for them is dead.

A quality of life they once knew.
Yet convince to accept,
Without depth of thoughts to process...
A choice to choose to kill the roots,
Will not renew or improve...
Facts that should have mattered,
From themselves they removed.
To prove truth useless.
With no purpose for it to exist.
