The Message My Mind Wishes To Listen To Poem by Jona PoloRamirez

The Message My Mind Wishes To Listen To

The minutes of drought in my mind in times where the city
Is bustling with life, sounds of movements from a car -
Meaningless - but its continuous movement from afar -
A brook flows by, an imagination... wanted to reach out
The sound of water trickling from a bamboo tube,
Mingled with the cars' hooting sound near and from afar.

My empty brain confused with what to make out of these sounds
Ah empty brain - lost in a melee of a downtown rustle of life
Uninspired to pen down the mind's travelling thoughts
Of time - senseless passage of seconds drags the mind to think
But refuses to organize words and create a sensible rhyme.

The sounds of movements outside - a rhyme with the passage
Ot time, waiting, waiting for a sound, a sound that's familiar
To the eager and sensible and yet empty mind...
White clouds soundless over the rooftop, droplets of rain
Mingled with the sounds outside, and still my empty brain
Refuses to recognize the soundless, empty passage of time.

The rustling sounds emanating from a busy downtown life,
an image of a waterfall starts so vivid in my mind...
But my empty mind refuses to acknowledge that the sound
Of water is just a product of a void and empty downtown life.

Sirens emanating from a police car irritates the ear and affects
The mind, a thought that trouble somewhere but one that does not
Make sense, motorbikes throttle and mingle with all the sound
Around, the drip-dropp of water from a bamboo tube...
Sounds confusing for my busy ears and empty mind.

The flashing waterfall from afar filled my mind but the sound
From outside an awakening call to my restless thinking mind
I pen it down and attempt to make sense about what's going
Around, but still I can not make sense of sounds...
That wandered off the outside realm of my restless thinking mind.
