The Missing Piece Poem by Joni Lenhart

The Missing Piece

If I ever see you again what will I say?
Should I yell or just look the other way?
You've kept a piece of my heart I want back,
I can't move on without that piece I lack.
It holds all of my trust, love, and my hope,
Without that piece I just can't cope.
I'll never know why I gave it to you,
Or how your feelings could have been true.
Now I need to get you out of my mind,
To get the piece back that I can't find.
The scars will stay reminding me everyday,
I give all that I have and always pray.
With God by my side no man can hurt me,
One day I will be all that I'm suppose to be.
