The Mother She Was...

Rating: 4.0

Her soul so pure
Her heart of gold
My mother she is, I was told.

I don't remember her as slim or lean
But she actually was in all the pictures that I have seen
Her skin so soft and so brown
Eyes so deep, no wonder my dad did drown

She loved and cared with all her might
And for all her family she was ready to fight
She wasn't a perfect mother
But she was full of loving smother
The emotions she had, were a filler
She was indeed the family's strongest pillar
No matter where one was
If there was a cause
She gathered us all together.

When In the need of love
She was always there, like a dove
She was always around when I was sad
She never let anything seem uncontrollably bad

Her soul so pure
Her heart of gold
My mother she was, her hand I could always hold

The food she cooked, was the best
Her hospitality never took a rest
She fed the family and the guests so well
Until their tummies began to swell.
She loved to eat and to feed
Little did we know her diabetes would take the lead
About her illness never did she care
And to stop her from eating, no-one could dare.
Unfortunately, we also weren't aware
How this illness was actually a not just a scare.

I still remember her lying down in peace As I looked at her face, not a single crease

All dressed in red, in her wedding dress
Just as she always desired
I wish I could give her the caress
As She lay on the pyre

And then, and then they lit the fire!

No matter where is she
She s always here, next to me, keeping me in care
I love her so and I miss her more
I really wish together we could dance the floor
Only if she could have lived a few years more

Her soul so pure
Her heart of Gold
My mother, I wish her hand,   I could still hold.
