The Mutual Admiration Club Poem by Francis Duggan

The Mutual Admiration Club

Rating: 5.0

'Tis not credit where credit is due
'Tis you'll praise me if I praise you
At The Mutual Admiration Club it is their way
To only nice things of each others say.

Of their achievements they feel so proud
Criticism in their group is not allowed
In their group the truth seems out of place
only flattery they do embrace.

Them you dare not criticize
As they look on the truth as lies
Only words of praise seems to suit them fine
If 'tis flattery you seek them you should join.

Any valid criticism of them they would not believe
Themselves they only do deceive
If they think that others do not have the right
To see them in a dimmer light.

To the truth they do give the snub
At The Mutual Admiration Club
Only lies they do wish to hear
For indeed 'tis the truth they do fear.
