The New World

As we stand with faith and gratitude
On the threshold of the day
That will usher in a bright new world
The one for which we pray
Let us look beyond the old world
With it's sorrow and its pain
To that new world over which
A righteous king shall reign
A world that never more will know
The scourge of war and strife
But will bring to humble meek ones
Peace and everlasting life
So with words of praise upon our lips
Let us faithfully serve our King
Telling others of the joys
That His blest new world will bring.

Poem of the Day

poet Emily Jane Brontë

I am the only being whose doom
No tongue would ask no eye would mourn
I never caused a thought of gloom
A smile of joy since I was born

In secret pleasure - secret tears
