The Night Has Its Innocence - Poem by Shalom Freedman

THE NIGHT HAS ITS INNOCENCE

The night has its innocence
‘The fields open to the sky’
The passerbys – each to their own destination.
No war.

And I walking
So quiet inside
As if nothing we love
Could ever die.
