The Nights Poem by Drich The Poet

The Nights

Do you remember?
The month before December.
You said you was gonna stay
You said you won't delay.
I set the fire and rolled away
My mat.
Buried my weakness
and portrayed boldness
Profound joy of hearing
such headlines,
incarnated the berieved soul.
That was once in doubt crisis.

But you left
You killed hope with ignorance,
you aroused a cleft.
At the verge of suicide
You instead caused homicide
Believing that talking to you
Would make a difference
It did make a difference

Truth is, your absence
Led to the realization that
I was no one priority
Except I meet their standard
Well I'm just gonna have to deal with it
Your absence reimagined
Informed me that with or without you
Anything I engage in is on me

Ain't nobody coming to
Carry my cross
We still may laugh
We still may talk
We still may hang out
But deep down
I grope as we roll.
