The Nighttime Poem by Raymond Smith

The Nighttime

Nighttime, quiet time
Cool, crisp and deep blue
Alone to think feel and breathe in
the night air

Owls call, bugs call, the air cools
The furor is gone
The race is paused
Time is timeless
As it was in days of old, it is now
The nighttime reveals to us that as they were, we are now

Breathe deep
Drink of the nighttime
Know that this nighttime you will always keep
Let your soul rest in the healing Nighttime

The Nighttime
