The Old Bird Poem by Janri Gogeshvili

The Old Bird

Rating: 5.0

An old bird is still a bird,
At dawn, he looks so pleased!
He flies and hops about as a birdie,
And twangs the strings to the breeze.

The old bird warbles with all his heart,
Encouraging the first twitter…
The newly feathered birdie romps,
And by that warble is christened…

The old bird doesn’t feel he’s old,
Neither do others, – hearing him chirp…
But he often chirps in a low voice,
And greets the coming dawn in his sleep.
