THE OLD RUGGED CROSS IS STILL NEW

THE OLD RUGGED CROSS IS STILL NEW

Sounds like ancient things are past
They don't often stay in view
But friends I have great news to share
The old rugged cross is still new
Up from the grave He arose! Remember
Jesus was His name
Yesterday, today, forever
Jesus is the same

We never tire of that message
It's changed us through and through
We still proclaim and gladly share it
The old rugged cross is still new
Not one sinner in this world
Is left out of our Father's love
He's still seeks the lost to save them
Looking down from above

His heart is filled with deep compassion
He has mercy and grace for you
This message comes from heaven above
The old rugged cross is still new
Wise is the man that seeks the Lord
Seek while He may be found
Look to Him who saves from sin
Look and be heaven bound

That is why I love my Saviour
He knows me through and through
Knows the day I believed on Jesus
The old rugged cross is still new
Ask me of my faith and religion
I'll give you my point of view
I've trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as my Saviour
The old rugged cross is still new......................
