The Old Statue Poem by Phil J Hambling

The Old Statue

Rating: 1.0

How important you were
Stood up there for all to see
Alone in the crowd now
Your only admirers

Or the placer of the occasional traffic cone
Upon your weathered head
As a crown of mockery
And the rain that rusts you away
Gradually fading
Like the values you once held
