The Old Time Religion Poem by Tiana Isaac

The Old Time Religion

Rating: 2.0

The old time religion
Give me the old time religion
A time where love was sincere
And sex was sacred
The old time religion
Give me the old time religion
A time where love was unconditional
And not a give and take
The old time religion
Give me this old time religion
A time where two hearts truly wanted each other
And 'I love you' was enough to express love
The old time religion
Give me the old time religion
A time where sex was not a prove of love
But genuine commitment to each other spoke Volume
A time where two lovers chosed each other
A time where the thought of another aside my partner was a sacrilege
The old time religion
Give me the old time religion
A time where the heavens blessed our union because purity and genuine love was our foundation
A time where weddings were initiations that permits sex
And parents smiled with tears running down their cheeks
The old time religion
Give me the old time religion
A time where virginity was valued and the pride of everyone
The old time religion
Give me the old time religion
My world is in chaos because love has become a mirage
The old time religion
Give me the old time religion
A time where love was real
And 'i love you' meant everything
