The Opaque Pearl Of Silence Poem by Joshua Bantum

The Opaque Pearl Of Silence

Your tongue swirls the winds
Into a breading ground of intention.
I can feel your breeze pursuing truth as I hide.

The herds swell by the coffins bell you sway,
Your audience gathers, clustered with ex lovers,
Not sure if they’ve lived fully with you,
Has there time expired too soon.

This attic is empty, dust covering dust
And simply
That is it,
Our wooden pulp carrying memories,
Nails tailoring half cut stories
Into a roof I can hide beneath.
A love fairy tale I’ve taught myself
To cover up the swirling wind
Seeking truth outside.

The grave yard crow dresses black
Covering the soul of his lost lover
Living pure beneath,
Watching the slaves dig their graves
Peering frustrated regret
At us.

We have a chance to encompass
the
Years of wisdom before us,
But neglectfully
We choose,
Shamelessly,
The void of silence,
It’s empty youthfulness of change
Which is consistent in it’s inconsistency,
And you complain
That it’s all the same…..
