The Ordeals Of A Young Village Woman! Poem by Dr.V.K. Kanniappan

A young village woman with 2 years old girl child,
..with no support of her abandoned husband indeed!
She starts in the early morning with other women,
..leaving her child alone, walks for 12 miles like a demon!

She walks to a hilly forest area for collecting wood
..and sell in the nearby town as much as she could! .
She walks back carrying the bundle of wood on the head
..without footwear in the hot sun to a town far ahead!

Walking for miles in the hot sun leading to blisters
..on her feet, returns home at night, food she prepares!
She faces the same ordeals everyday through the year
..for supporting her and rearing her child for ever!
