The other night, I dreampt of Him, the Saviour of my soul,
The Lord adored by seraphim, the King who's in control,
The Son of God none can replace, if Heaven is their goal,
Anointed by amazing grace to play that sovereign role.
The angels waited and received the orders He supplied,
To send to men who still believed, and sought God as their guide,
The saints who preached about the Cross and Jesus crucified,
Evangelists who shared the loss of life the day Christ died.
And then, within the dream I saw, the Saviour looked at me,
As if someone not to ignore, who knew of Calvary,
And bid me near, towards His Throne, towards His majesty,
As one to whom His love was shown, for all His love to see.
And as I walked, within that dream, the stronger I became,
And from my mouth poured out a stream of praises to His Name,
The angels sang in harmony, rejoicing to proclaim,
Amazing grace God shared with me, once Heaven was my aim.
