The Other Woman Poem by Salvie Rosales

The Other Woman

Rating: 4.7

My heart new only hate for you at first,
Seeking your laughter priced at my pain,
The sating of your spirit at my thirst,
Sun of your heavens, at my heaven’s rain.
O but the brightest rose-smile is bedewed,
And slaking fountains latterly run dry,
This season’s sun is only a prelude
To a tomorrow’s rain: so all things die.
Light of his love had shone for me, and waned-
So from your vision shall it vanish, too;
His new love seeing, O you shall be pained
With this fierce pain I feel at seeing you.
You whom I hated only, at the start-
How I do pity you deep in my heart!
