The Pain Resort Poem by Doug Rife

The Pain Resort

Welcome to the pain resort
Where you can attend daily pity parties
And cry yourself to sleep.

Days are spent in bed,
You don’t have to get up
You can just sit and dread.

You can cry and cry
And nobody will bother you,
They’ll allow you to sit for hours
Watching the sun transform into a moon,

Or you can attempt to change
And spend some time outside today.

Watch as the flowers in the garden
Come alive
And you’ll notice everything is brighter
If you clear your eyes.

Life isn’t so bad
At the pain resort,
You’ll get better
If you try to stop being sad.
