The Past Poem by Ulysses Cabinatan

The Past

go to nice places,
bathe in happy memories,
sail with joy and gladness,
be happy and be glad.

think of your past as vapor,
or a smoke that fades in the air.
or think of it as wind that passes,
or as clouds that forms and vanishes.

stop carrying the burden of the past.
we don’t have a time machine,
and everything is passing.

the present is still in our hands,
find solace on gifts it brings.
we still have a choice.
to make it happy,
or make it sad.
so cast away
the worries
and be glad.
