The Past Is The Past Poem by Dave Shemeley

The Past Is The Past

Words of my soul, carry me to a better tomorrow
No longer thoughts of the past, bringing on the sorrow
What was can not be undone, live in the now and have alot of fun
The past is gone just let it be, those thoughts are evil don't you see

The future awaits and shall unfold, sitting still...boy that is so bold
Failure to see cause of all the rain, only you can end your internal pain
Whispers and silence runs thru the land, you have the strength to forever stand
My shoulder is here if ever in need, get lost in the fog I'll take the lead

That's what we do you know, even in the darkest of night
We pull together as one, continue to battle the righteous fight
One may fall, Two may go down, Three will move ahead
Living in the past, means you'll forever be silenced, the living dead
